Vote to pass a bill that requires persons under the age of 18 to wear helmets when skiing or snowboarding.

Highlights:

• Requires persons under the age of 18 to wear a properly fitted and fastened snow sport helmet while participating in the sport of downhill skiing or snowboarding (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a violation of this requirement is punishable by a maximum fine of $25 and that a parent or legal guardian of the violator is "jointly and severally" liable for the same amount (Sec. 1).

• Requires ski resorts to post signs at the resort regarding the helmet requirement and to provide notice in writing of the helmet requirement on all lift tickets, trail maps, and resort Internet Web sites (Sec. 1).
