Vote to pass a bill that abolishes the death penalty in Montana.
Repeals all references to the death penalty in Montana statutes and substitutes, where applicable, a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole (Secs. 2-8, 11-23, 25-34, & 36-40).
Specifies that the repeal of the death penalty applies retroactively to any offenses that occurred prior to the effective date of this act, and that all persons under the sentence of death must be resentenced by the court to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole (Sec. 43).
