Vote to pass a bill that requires federal law enforcement officers to communicate with the appropriate county sheriff prior to taking any official law enforcement action in the state of Montana.
Highlights:
- Requires federal law enforcement officers to communicate with the appropriate county sheriff prior to taking any official law enforcement action in Montana (Sec. 2).
- Specifies that if the federal law enforcement officer does not inform the sheriff before taking official action, the officer should do so as soon as practical after the fact (Sec. 2).
- Exempts federal law enforcement officers from provisions of this act if communication with a county sheriff would impede the federal officer's official duties (Sec. 2).
