Vote to pass a bill that prohibits local government from regulating the sales and marketing of food and drinks.

Highlights:

• Specifies that only the state legislature has the authority to regulate the sales and marketing of food and nonalcoholic beverages served by restaurants, retail outlets, and vending machines (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits any office without statewide authority from engaging in activities including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
• Enacting or upholding local legislations related to the provision of food nutrition information or consumer incentive items;
• Limiting the sales or production of food items approved by federal or state agencies; or
• Conditioning any license or permit for a food service operation upon the existence or non-existence of food-based health disparities.
