Vote to pass a bill that amends the Revised School Code to require, starting with students entering eighth grade in 2006, the following minimum credits to receive a high school diploma: four in English Language Arts, four in Math, three in Science, three in Social Science, one in Health and Physical Education, one in either Visual Arts, Performing Arts, or Applied Arts, and either completion of one online course, or participation in a regular course with an online component. The bill also requires at least two credits in a language other than English in order to receive a high school diploma for students entering ninth grade in 2009.
