Vote to pass a bill that requires public contractors to report certain employment information.
Highlights:
- Requires an employer to provide the following information to the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development for each employee hired in connection to the State contract (Sec. 2):
- Gender;
- Race;
- Job title;
- Occupation category; and
- Total compensation.
- Requires the employer to provide the Commissioner with an update to the report each time there is “significant” change in the information required by this bill or other significant changes in employment status which include, but are not limited to, the following (Sec. 2):
- Hiring;
- Termination for any reason;
- A change in part-time or full-time status; or
- A change in “employee” or “contractor” status.
- Requires the Division on Civil Rights in the Department of Law and Public Safety to provide information required by this bill to an individual who requests the information and meets the following requirement (Sec. 2):
- The individual is or was an employee of the employer during the period of the contract between the employer and the State; or
- The individual is an authorized representative of the employee.
