Title: Authorizes Certain Agencies to Raise Fees

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes state agencies to raise fees by the percent increase of the Consumer Price Index during a specified period.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes a state agency that is authorized to charge a fee to fund its operations to increase the fee by one of the following percentage increase amounts (Sec. 1):
    • The amount that the Consumer Price Index increased over the previous 10 year period; or
    • The amount that the Consumer Price Index increased since the previous increase in fees.
  • Prohibits an agency from increasing its fees more than 2 percent per year or from increasing its fees more than once in 5 years (Sec. 1).
