Highlights:
Authorizes a public school student to engage in “religious expression” before, during, and after school hours in the same manner and to the same extent that a student is authorized to engage in secular activities (Sec. 1).
Defines “religious expression” as activities including prayers, religious gatherings, prayer groups, religious clubs, and the distribution of religious literature or written materials (Sec. 1).
Requires a school district, community school, STEM school, or college preparatory boarding school to provide the same access to school facilities to students who conduct a meeting to engage in religious expression as a secular student group (Sec. 1).
Authorizes a student to engage in religious expression in the completion of homework, artwork, or other written or oral assignments without being penalized or rewarded based on the religious content of the work (Sec. 1).
