Highlights:

  • Establishes a statewide system to monitor medical marijuana tracking, inventory, and verification information (Sec. 3).
  • Requires the monitoring system to be able to store and provide access to information that, in conjunction with third-party inventory control and tracking system, will enable the following activities (Sec. 3):
    • Verification of registry identification cards;
    • Records of each sale or transfer of marijuana;
    • Determination of whether a transaction will exceed the legal limit; and
    • Monitoring of marijuana seed-to-sale transfers.
  • Requires the monitoring system to be accessible to the state, licensees, and law enforcement personnel (Sec. 3).
  • Requires the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to seek individual bids in order to maintain the statewide monitoring system by evaluating a contract bidder’s cost of service and ability to prevent unlawful activity (Sec. 3).
  • Prohibits an individual from disclosing information from the medical marijuana monitoring system, except for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this bill (Sec. 4).
