Vote to pass a bill that amends provisions related to payroll deductions for state and local government employee organizations.

Highlights:

• Prohibits local government from requiring a deduction or withholding from an employee’s wages or salary a payment or membership fee to a labor organization or other similar entity, including a trade union, labor union, employees’ association, or professional organization (Sec. 5).

• Exempts certain municipal firefighters, police officers and medical emergency personnel  (Sec. 10).
