A vote to pass a bill that prohibits the relocation or removal of public monuments.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the relocation, removal, alteration, renaming, or other disturbance of monuments located on public property that have been in place for less than 20 years  without permission granted by a court of competent jurisdiction (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits an individual from obstructing any governmental entity from maintaining,  protecting, and preserving a historic marker in the state (Sec.  2).

• Prohibits the renaming of a memorial street that has held its status for 15 or more years (Sec. 2).

• Establishes the Committee on Alabama Monument Protection (Sec. 2).
