ote to pass a bill that authorizes concealed handguns to be present at church services held on a school campus if school is not in session, effective December 1, 2017.
Highlights:

Authorizes individuals with a concealed weapons permit to carry a concealed weapon to a church service on school grounds if no curricular or extracurricular activities are being held or if the property is not being used for educational or instructional purposes, and no school sponsored activities are being held (Secs. 1 & 2).

Requires the educational property to be used as a location of both a school building and a place of religious worship for the legislation to apply (Sec. 2).

Prohibits individuals from carrying a concealed weapon on the property of an institution of higher learning or a nonpublic postsecondary institution (Sec. 2).
