Vote to pass a bill that increases criminal penalties for undocumented immigrants reentering the United States after being deported once already.

Highlights:

• Specifies that any undocumented immigrant that has been deported from the United States and attempts to re-enter shall be subject to a fine and not more than 2 years imprisonment (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that any undocumented immigrant that has been deported from the United States on multiple occasions and attempts to re-enter shall be subject to a fine and not more than 10 years imprisonment (Sec. 2).

• Increases the criminal penalty for previously deported undocumented immigrants that re-enter the United States and have a criminal history, stipulating that (Sec. 2):

• An undocumented immigrant previously convicted of 3 or more misdemeanors or 1 felony shall be subject to a fine and not more than 10 years imprisonment;

• An undocumented immigrant previously convicted of 1 felony that resulted in not more than 30 months imprisonment shall be subject to a fine and not more than 15 years imprisonment;

• An undocumented immigrant previously convicted of 1 felony that resulted in not more than 60 months imprisonment shall be subject to a fine and not more than 20 years imprisonment; and

• An undocumented immigrant previously convicted of murder, rape, kidnapping, debt servitude, or of 3 or more felonies shall be subject to a fine and not more than 25 years imprisonment.

• Specifies that any undocumented immigrant that attempts to re-enter the United States, and who was previously convicted but was deported before the completion of their sentence, shall be immediately imprisoned for the remainder of the sentence pending at the time of their earlier deportation (Sec. 2).

• Exempts immigrants that have legally re-entered the United States or that have been granted consent to reapply for admission to the United States by the Secretary of Homeland Security (Sec. 2).
