Title: Requires Police Officers to Wear Body Cameras
Vote to pass a bill that requires state law enforcement agencies to equip their officers with body cameras while on duty.
Requires law enforcement agencies to adopt policies and procedures governing police officers’ use of these devices (Sec. 1).
Requires officers who wear body cameras to activate them whenever they respond to a call for service or have a law related encounter with the public (Sec. 1).
Requires law enforcement agencies to retain the recordings for at least 15 days (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the public to request to view a recording on a per incident basis (Sec. 1)
Prohibits recordings that contain confidential information from being viewed anywhere besides the location where the recordings are held (Sec. 1).
