Title: Amends Definition of Residency for Voting Purposes
Vote to pass a bill that amends the definition of residency with regard to eligibility to vote or hold office within the state.
Requires, for purposes of voting and holding office in New Hampshire, a resident or inhabitant to be an individual who is domiciled in New Hampshire and has demonstrated a current intent to designate that domicile as their principal place of presence (Sec. 2).
Specifies that residency status will not be revoked by a temporary absence from an individual’s principal place of presence in the state so long as they intend to return to it (Sec. 2).
