Title: Amends Local Elections

Vote to pass a bill that amends local election times by consolidating them into a single day.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires that regular local elections be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year (Sec. 18).

  • Requires all municipalities to elect their municipal officers on the “municipal officer election day” which is the first Tuesday in March of even-numbered years (Sec. 34).

  • Authorizes the county clerk to hold and conduct a mailed ballot measure for any special election called by the state or local government except for a special election called in the United States House of Representatives (Sec. 41).

  • Prohibits non binding or merely advisory questions from being placed on an election ballot (Sec. 15).
