Vote to pass a bill that prohibits employers from enforcing non-disclosure agreements regarding workplace harassment or discrimination.
Prohibits employers from enforcing any provision in an employment contract that waives an employee’s procedural right or remedy relating to a claim of discrimination, retaliation, or harassment (Sec. 1).
Prohibits enforcing any provision in an employment contract or settlement agreement that has the purpose or effect of concealing the details related to a claim of discrimination, retaliation, or harassment (Sec. 2).
Specifies that non-disclosure provisions are unenforceable even if a current or former employee publicly reveals details of the claim, including information that identifies the employer or other parties involved (Sec. 2).
Specifies that these regulations do not apply to the terms of any collective bargaining agreement between an employer and the collective bargaining representative of the employees (Sec. 1).
