A vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that authorizes automatic voter registration when acquiring a drivers' license.

Highlights:

• Requires that an application for an operator’s or chauffeur’s license to be made in a manner prescribed by the Secretary of State and contain a space for  the applicant to indicate on the application or change of address application whether the applicant is a citizens of the United States, for the purposes of automatic voter registration (Sec. 307).

• Requires that an application for an operator’s or chauffeur’s license to be made in a manner prescribed by the Secretary of State and contain a space to allow the applicant to indicate that they decline to use the application as a voter registration application (Sec. 307).

• Requires a person’s digital photographic image and signature to be used by the Secretary of State for forwarding to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs the images of applicants for an official state registry identification card under the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act, if the department makes a rule requiring a photograph as a design element for an official state registry identification card (Sec. 307).
