A vote to pass a bill that amends the Constitution of North Carolina to establish a Bipartisan Board of Ethics and Elections Enforcement.

Highlights:

• Establishes a Bipartisan State Board of Ethics and Elections Enforcement to administer ethics and election laws (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Board be located within the executive branch, but exercise entirely independently of the executive branch (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the Board must consist of 8 members, with terms of 4 years, be qualified voters, and only 4 members may be registered with the same party (Sec. 1).

• Requires that appointments to the Board be made as follows (Sec. 1):
