Vote to pass a bill that permits firefighters and other emergency personnel to carry a concealed weapon.

Highlights:

• Authorizes volunteer firefighters, firefighters, emergency medical service (EMS) personnel, and EMS volunteers who have a valid concealed handgun permit to legally carry a concealed firearm and travel throughout the commonwealth in the performance of their duty (Sec. 1).

• Requires any fire department, EMS agency, or volunteer EMS agency that authorizes its employees or volunteers to carry a concealed handgun while in the performance of their official duties develop a written policy regarding such authorizations and best practices for carrying a concealed handgun (Sec. 1).
