Vote to pass a bill that authorizes Governor Kemp to pursue Medicaid waivers.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the Department of Community Health to submit Medicaid health care benefit waiver requests to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on or before June 30, 2020 (Sec. 2-1).

• Authorizes the governor to apply for Medicaid waivers to CMS through the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Sec. 3-2).

• Authorizes the state to implement such Medicaid waivers on or after January 1, 2020 (Sec. 3-2). 

• Authorizes the governor to submit Medicaid waiver applications until December 31, 2012 (Sec. 3-2).  

• Repeals all laws and parts of laws in conflict with this bill (Sec. 4-2).
