Title: Increases Age for Tobacco Sale Regulations
Vote to pass a bill that increases the age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21.
Prohibits individuals under the age of 21 from purchasing any tobacco or tobacco related product (Article 9A, Sec. 16-3).
Specifies that for individuals under the age of 21 and with a valid driver's license have their license suspended for 30 days if they are found to have violated this act (Article 9A, Sec. 16-3).
Exempts any active duty military personnel who are over the age of 18 but under the age of 21 from the provisions of this act (Article 9A, Sec. 16-7).
Prohibits an individual from smoking any tobacco product while operating a passenger vehicle on any public street or highway if they are with an individual under the age of 17 and specifies that violators will be subject to a $25 fine (Article 9A, Sec. 16-12).
Increases the fine to $1000 for any individual or business entity that offer for sale any cigarette, tobacco product, or tobacco-derived product in a vending machine (Article 9A, Sec. 16-8).
