Vote to pass a bill that increases the age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21.

Highlights:

• Prohibits individuals under the age of 21 from purchasing any tobacco or tobacco related product (Article 9A, Sec. 16-3).

• Specifies that for individuals under the age of 21 and with a valid driver's license have their license suspended for 30 days if they are found to have violated this act (Article 9A, Sec. 16-3).

• Exempts any active duty military personnel who are over the age of 18 but under the age of 21 from the provisions of this act (Article 9A, Sec. 16-7).

• Prohibits an individual from smoking any tobacco product while operating a passenger vehicle on any public street or highway if they are with an individual under the age of 17 and specifies that violators will be subject to a $25 fine (Article 9A, Sec. 16-12).

• Increases the fine to $1000 for any individual or business entity that offer for sale any cigarette, tobacco product, or tobacco-derived product in a vending machine (Article 9A, Sec. 16-8).
