Title: Amends State Tax Laws Regarding Presidential Tax Return Requests
Vote to pass a bill that amends state law regarding the release of presidential tax returns upon Congressional request, effective immediately.
Authorizes the Commissioner of Taxation and Finance to provide any reports or returns to the chairpersons of the US Congressional Ways and Means Committee, the Finance Committee, or the Joint Committee on Taxation, upon written request (Sec 1).
Authorizes the Commissioner to redact any information from the report to Congressional committees that would violate state or federal law, or would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, such as Social Security numbers, account numbers, and residential address information (Sec. 1).
Specifies that such permission will only be granted in the chairperson of the requesting committee certifies in writing that such reports or returns have been requested for a secifies and legitimate legislative purpose, the requesting committee has made a written request to the US Secretary of the Treasury for related federal returns or return information, and such reports or returns will be inspected and/or submitted to another committee, to the US House of Representative, or to the US Senate (Sec. 1).
