Vote to pass with amendment a bill that establishes ranked choice voting for Presidential Primaries and General Elections.
Specifies that only voters that are enrolled in a political party in the state of Maine may vote in the party’s presidential primary election (Sec. 5).
Specifies that the following content information must be documented on the presidential primary election ballot, including, but not limited to (Sec. 6):
Instructions printed in bold at the top informing the voter how to designate the voter’s choice;
The name and place of residence for each candidate running; and
A heading on the ballot declaring the title and type of election, the name of the party, and the voting district.
Requires that the tabulation of ballots cast in the presidential primary election for each party must proceed according to the ranked-choice method of tabulating votes (Sec. 7).
