Vote to pass a bill that increases rebates for full-battery electric vehicles.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the Treasurer, upon request by the state board and following approval from the Director of Finance, to scrutinize revenues for which the state board has existing authority to establish a continuous funding source for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, established as part of the Air Quality Improvement Program, (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes a starting rebate level of up to $7,500 per vehicle for all battery electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the state board to provide the Director of Finance with an estimate total amount of money that will be paid as rebates between July 1, 2020, and the date at which $5 million zero-emission vehicles are expected to be deployed (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that this act does not provide the state board new authority to establish new revenue sources (Sec. 1).
