Vote to pass with amendment a bill that authorizes name changes on high school documents regarding gender identity.

Highlights:

• Authorizes a school district, charter school, or county office of education to update a former pupil’s records to include updated legal name or gender if said pupil requests this update (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the former pupil requesting a legal name or gender change to provide any of the following documentation for this records change (Sec. 1):

• State-issued driver’s license;

• Birth certificate;

• Passport;

• Social security card; or

• Court order indicating a name change or gender change, or both.
