Vote to pass a bill that establishes an online criminal records database.

Highlights:

• Requires the division of state police to maintain public criminal history record information in an electronic database (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that any individual may receive, for a fee, a copy of their own criminal history record information (Sec. 2).

• Requires that criminal history record information be sent to the director of the department of safety for collection when a person is arrested, taken into police custody, or appears before a court (Sec. 2).

• Requires that public criminal history record information received from the division of state police be used as the official source of criminal history records for employment and licensing purposes (Sec. 2).

• Requires that a criminal history record authorization form be sent to the division of state police upon employment or licensure of someone in the following fields (Sec. 3-9):

• Vendors of door to door sales or home repair services;

• Residential care and health facilities;

• Personal care services which involve in-home care or direct contact with a client;

• Home inspectors;

• Dentists and dentistry;

• Naturopathic health care practice; and
