Title: Prohibits Facial Recognition in Police Body-Cams
Vote to pass a bill with amendment that prohibits the use of facial recognition and other biometric surveillance by law enforcement until 2023.
Prohibits a law enforcement agency or officer from installing, activating, or using any biometric surveillance system in connection with an officer camera or data collected by an officer camera (Sec. 2).
Authorizes a person to take legal action against a law enforcement agency or officer that violates this act (Sec. 2).
Specifies that officers may still use mobile fingerprint scanning devices in the instance that a person is unable to provide proof of identification, so long as it does not result in any retention of data or information (Sec. 2).
