Title: Requires DNA Collection From Those Charged with a Felony as a First Offender
A vote to pass a bill that requires DNA collection from those charged with a felony as a first offender.
Requires the DNA collection of any person that has been charged with a felony offense as a first offender or under conditional discharge (Sec. 1).
Requires all DNA samples to be destroyed within 30 days of the receipt of the following (Sec. 3):
A court order reversing the conviction;
Documentation from the prosecuting attorney stating that charges were dismissed;
A judgement of acquittal;
A sentencing order showing that all felony charges were reduced to misdemeanors; or
A court order showing the successful completion of the sentence.
