  • Appropriates a total of $24.08 billion to the Department of Education for the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget that shall be appropriated to various programs and agencies by the following amounts, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2.1):

    • $1.24 billion for the state community college system;

    • $9.88 billion for public instruction;

    • $135 million for UNC BOG institutional programs; and

    • $112 million for related educational programs at UNC BOG.

  • Increases public school teacher monthly salaries to the following amounts based on the number of years of experience (Sec. 2.3):

    • 0 years of experience a monthly salary of $3,500;

    • 1 year of experience a monthly salary of $3,600;

    • 2 years of experience a monthly salary of $3,700;

    • 3 years of experience a monthly salary of $3,800;

    • 4 years of experience a monthly salary of $3,900;

    • 5 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,000;

    • 6 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,100;

    • 7 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,200;

    • 8 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,300;

    • 9 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,400;

    • 10 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,500;

    • 11 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,600;

    • 12 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,700;

    • 13 years of experience a monthly salary of $4,800;
