Title: Authorizes Student Financial Aid for Incarcerated Persons
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes incarcerated persons to receive student financial aid.
Authorizes eligibility for student aid to an incarcerated person as long as (Sec. 1):
The person has been a resident of the state for no less than 12 months prior to the date of incarceration;
The person is a state-sentenced inmate; and
The person receives approval from the Department of Corrections to enroll in an eligible institution.
Specifies that this act will take effect upon its passage (Sec. 2).
