• Prohibits an individual from discriminating against a renter, or determining the ability of a potential buyer to repay a mortgage loan based on their source or amount of income (Sec. 1).

• Defines “source of income” as any lawful source of money paid directly or indirectly to or on behalf of a renter or buyer of housing (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a source of income can include (Sec. 1):

• A lawful profession, occupation, or job;

• Any government or private assistance, grant loan, or rental assistance, including low-income housing assistance certificates and vouchers;

• A gift, inheritance, pension, annuity, alimony, child support, or any other consideration or benefit; or

• The sale of pledge of property or interest in property.
