Title: Expands School Breakfast Programs

Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that expands school breakfast programs.

  • Authorizes public schools with 30 percent or more of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch to use an alternative breakfast model starting with the 2022-23 school year (Sec 220.2).

  • Authorizes schools to apply for a waiver from the state board if their service model causes undue hardship (Sec 220.2).

  • Requires the state board to provide guidance to schools implementing the Start Smart Utah Program (Sec 220.2).
