Title: Increases the Threshold Amount of Money Taken for Larceny Crimes
Vote to increase the threshold amount of money taken for a charge of felony larceny from $500 to $1,000.
Specifies that if a person conspires with another to commit larceny, where the aggregate value of the goods or merchandise involved is $1,000 or more, they are guilty of a felony punishable by confinement in prison for between one and 20 years (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a person who does any the following will be guilty of grand larceny, punishable by imprisonment for between one to 20 years, be confined in jail for up to 12 months, or fined up to $2,500, either, or both (Sec. 1):
Commits larceny from the person of another of money or other things of value of $5 or more;
Commits simple larceny not from the person of another of goods of 1,000 or more; or
Commits simple larceny not from the person of another of any firearm, regardless of the firearm’s val
