Title: Reduces Contributions to Teachers' Retirement System

Vote to override a veto of a bill that reduces contributions to the teachers' retirement and pension system.

Highlights:

 

  • Reduces the percentage amount paid to the State Treasurer to be placed in the general revenue fund for fiscal years 2022-2023 to 83.61 percent and to 83.11 percent for fiscal years 2027-2028 (Sec. 1).

  • Reduces the amount paid to the State Treasure to be placed in the Education Reform Revolving Fund for the fiscal year 2020 to 10.46 percent of the revolving fund, to 11.96 percent for the fiscal year 2021, and to 11.71 for the fiscal year 2022 (Sec. 1).

  • Reduces the amount paid to the Teachers’ Retirement System Dedicated Revenue Revolving Fund out of the general revenue fund for the fiscal year 2020-2021 to 5 percent, 3.75 percent for the fiscal year 2022-2023, and 5.5 percent for the fiscal year 2023-2027 (Sec. 1).

NOTE: A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF MEMBERS ELECTED IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A GOVERNOR'S VETO.
