Title: Expands Marijuana Decriminalization Policies

Vote to pass a bill that expands marijuana decriminalization policies.
Highlights:

Increases the amount of possession of marijuana from less than 10 grams to less than 1 ounce for monetary, non-jail penalties (Sec. 1).

Establishes the following penalties for possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana (Sec. 1):

The first finding of guilt is a civil offense punishable by a fine of up to $100;

The second finding of guilt is a civil offense punishable by a fine of up to $250; and
-
The third or subsequent finding of guilt is a civil offense punishable by up to $500.

Specifies that in addition to a fine, a court will order a person who commits a violation to attend a drug education program, refer the person to an assessment for substance abuse disorder, and refer the person to substance abuse treatment, if necessary (Sec. 1).
