Title: Amends Certain Requirements of the Records Expungement Process
Vote to pass a bill that amends certain requirements of the records expungement process.
Amends previous law to specify that anyone in the physical custody of the Department of Public Safety serving a sentence of hard labor shall not be permitted to file a motion to expunge an arrest record which did not result in a conviction of a misdemeanor or felony offense (Sec. 1).
Repeals the secondary waiting period for records expungement for incarcerated individuals already eligible for multiple records expungements for an arrest that resulted in jail time or a misdemeanor conviction during the last 5-10 years (Sec. 1).
