Title: Establishes Reasonable Accommodations for Pregnant Workers
Vote to pass a bill that establishes reasonable accommodations for pregnant workers.
Specifies that it is the policy of the state to require employers to make reasonable accommodations for an employee due to the pregnancy of the employee (Sec. 8).
Specifies that the legislative council is urged to assign the studying of pregnancy and childbirth accommodations, including their fiscal impact upon businesses, to an appropriate study committee (Sec. 1).
Authorizes an employer to request that an employee provide proof of pregnancy from their health provider if the employee requests a reasonable accommodation (Sec. 11).
Requires the commission to investigate and conduct proceedings upon receipt of a complaint alleging a violation of this bill (Sec. 12).
