Highlights:

• Specifies that it is the policy of the state to require employers to make reasonable accommodations for an employee due to the pregnancy of the employee (Sec. 8).

• Specifies that the legislative council is urged to assign the studying of pregnancy and childbirth accommodations, including their fiscal impact upon businesses, to an appropriate study committee (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes an employer to request that an employee provide proof of pregnancy from their health provider if the employee requests a reasonable accommodation (Sec. 11).
