Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that establishes a committee to suspend public health orders between congressional sessions.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a local health officer, while acting under issuance of an emergency health order, from:

• Restricting the capacity of people for a place of worship; and

• Prohibiting any person’s exercise of religious practice, including, but not limited to, the receipt of the sacrament (Sec. 2453).

• Establishes that a business that has been required to cease operations as a result of said emergency health order, but continues to operate, is not in violation of this order so long as the business abides by each health and safety precaution extended to other businesses within that same order (Sec. 2454).

• Establishes that this law will apply to all emergency health orders issued on or after November 15, 2020, under Sec. 2253 of the public health code (Enacting Section).
