Vote to pass a bill that requires the Public Service Commission establish a new net metering system.

Highlights:

• Requires the public service commission to conduct public hearings and establish an appropriate system to regulate the rates, terms and conditions of customer-generators by all electric utilities for electricity produced from net metering systems first operational on or after July 1, 2022 (Sec.1a).

• Requires the public service commission balance the interests of customer-generators with those of electric utilities and ratepayers to ensure the availability of safe, adequate and reliable electricity service at just and reasonable rates (Sec. 1a).

• Repeals the established article on July 1, 2031 (Sec. 1b).
