Vote to pass a bill that authorizes lawful permanent residents to apply to become peace officers or dispatchers.

Highlights:

• Expands eligibility requirements for training programs or certification examinations to include (Sec. 1): 

• U.S. citizens; and

• Lawful residents of the U.S. who:

• Have lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years; or 

• Have authorization to legally work in the U.S.  

• Expands the eligibility requirements similarly for dispatcher certification examinations (Sec. 1).
