Title: Expands Financial Aid for Undocumented Immigrants

Vote to pass a bill that expands financial aid for undocumented immigrants pursuing higher education.
Highlights:

Specifies that the following individuals are eligible for in-state tuition regardless of citizenship or immigration status (Sec. 1):

A student who attended highschool in the Commonwealth for at least 2 years and graduated from public, private or homeschool;

Passed a high school equivalency examination approved by the Secretary of Education on or after July 1, 2008;

Demonstrates that if a dependent, that either one of their parents filed income taxes in the state of Virginia for at least two years; or

A student who is registered at a public or private institution of higher education in the state of virginia.

Specifies that the provisions of the act do not apply to students currently in Virginia with valid visas (Sec. 1).
