Vote to pass a bill that requires prisoner access to contraception medication.

Highlights:

• Requires prisons to provide prisoners, as part of the intake process, with the option of continuing the following medically prescribed methods of contraception (Sec. 1): 

• An oral contraceptive; 

• An injectable contraceptive; or 

• An intrauterine device, if the prisoner was prescribed the intrauterine device because the prisoner experiences serious and persistent adverse effects when using other methods of contraception.

• Specifies that the Department of Health will cover the costs incurred by prisons for providing prisoners with contraceptives (Sec. 1).
