Vote to pass a bill that increases penalties for convictions for hate crimes.

Highlights:

• Specifies that any individual found guilty of assault by mob when its determined beyond a reasonable doubt that the assault was carried out due to the victims race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, sexual oritentation, or physical or mental disability shall be guilty of a hate crime and subject to 5 year prison sentence and a fine of not more than $10,000 (Sec. 2).

• Establishes that this act shall take effect upon the governors approval (Sec. 3).
