Title: Establishes A Ban On Firearms In Hospitals

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a ban on guns from hospitals and creates a study to determine whether or not guns should be banned from the capitol.
Highlights:

Prohibits an individual from knowingly possessing a firearm while within a hospital building and specifies that violators shall be imprisoned for not more than one year or fined not more than $1,000 or both (Sec. 1).

Exempts law enforcement officers from the aforementioned provision (Sec. 1).

Requires notice of firearm prohibitions in hospital buildings posted conspicuously in front of each public entrance (Sec. 1).

Requires the Capitol Complex Security Advisory Committee report to the Joint Oversight Committee on the regulation of firearms in the Capitol Complex, and specifies that the report shall cover the following, including (Sec. 2):

Summarize how the possession of firearms at the Capitol Complex is currently regulated;

Describe situations when individuals have impermissibly possessed firearms at the Capitol Complex and how those situations are typically handled; and

Recommending whether and how the issue of firearms in the Capitol Complex should be addressed in legislation.

Establishes that this act shall take effect July 1, 2021 (Sec. 3).
