Title: Prohibits Business from Firing Employees if they Don't Get Vaccinated
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits business from firing employees if they do not receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
Establishes that no person in South Carolina may be compelled to take the Covid-19 vaccine (Sec. 1).
Prohibits an employer from terminating, suspending, demoting, or reassigning an employee based on their refusal to take the Covid-19 vaccine (Sec. 1).
Specifies that an employee working for an entity that cares for high-risk populations may require employees to undergo the Covid-19 vaccination (Sec. 2).
Specifies that nothing from the above legislation prevents an employer from (Sec. 3):
Encouraging, promoting, and administering the Covid-19 vaccine; and
Providing incentives to employees who have been vaccinated.
Specifies nothing from the above legislation limit’s an employer’s authority to have their employees quarantine when: (Sec. 4)
The employee has been diagnosed with Covid-19; or
The employee has been in close contact with a person diagnosed with Covid-19.
