Title: Requires Voter Registrars Cross-Reference Voter Rolls with the DMV to Remove Ineligible Voters
Vote to pass a bill that requires voter registrars cross-reference voter rolls with the DMV to remove ineligible voters.
Requires the registrar to deliver a note seeking proof of citizenship status when they receive notice of a registered voter’s lack of citizenship via the Department of Public Safety or in connection with a motor vehicle (Sec. 1).
Requires the Secretary of State to partner with the Department of Public Safety to share information and confirm the accuracy of registered voter’s citizenship (Sec.1).
Specifies that the information shared must include (Sec. 1):
Full legal name and if applicable former name; and
Date of birth; and
Residential address; and
Driver’s license or state identification number; and
Social security number; and
Documentation confirming a citizen’s lawful presence in the state; and
Citizenship status.
Requires the Secretary of State to provide a report on how many registered voters were canceled due to this act by no later than December 31st (Sec. 1).
