Title: Establishes a Statute of Limitations for Wrongful Termination of Employment
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a 4-year statute of limitations for commencing an action for wrongful termination of employment.
Requires an action in tort for common-law wrongful termination of employment to be commenced within 2 years after the date of the termination of employment (Sec. 1-1).
Specifies the time limitation outlined in subsection 1 is tolled from the date that an administrative complaint relating to the termination of employment is filed with a federal or state agency until 93 days after the conclusion of the administrative procedures concerning the complaint (Sec. 1-2).
Requires an action for relief, not hereinbefore provided for, to be commenced within 4 years after the cause of action will have accrued, regardless of whether the underlying cause of action is analogous to that of any other cause of action with a statute of limitations expressly prescribed by law (Sec. 2).
