Vote to amend and pass a bill that requires listing the gender identity of a deceased individual on their death certificate.

Highlights:

• Requires the certificate of death to contain the following items necessary to establish the fact of death(Sec. 1):

• Full name;

• Sex;

• Color or race;

• Marital status;

• Name of spouse

• Date of birth and death and age at death;

• Birthplace;

• Usual residence;

• Occupation and industry or business;

• Whether the decedent was ever in the Armed Forces of the United States;

• Place of death;

• Full name and birthplace of both the father and mother; and

• Certification and signature of attending physician and surgeon.

• Requires the certificate of death to contain the following items relating to medical and health data (Sec. 1B): 

• Disease or conditions leading directly to death;

• Operations and major findings thereof;

• Accident and injury information; and

• Information on whether the decedent was pregnant at the time of death or within a year before the death.
