Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the teaching of critical race theory.

Highlights:

• Requires the governing body of each city or town to cause an audit to be made by a certified public accountant who is currently certified by the state board of accountancy (Sec. 1A).

• Requires the audit to begin as soon as possible after the close of the fiscal year (Sec. 1C).

• Requires the governing body of the city or town to require the certified public accountant who performed the audit to present the audit results and any findings to the governing body within 90 days after completing an audit (Sec. 1H).

• Requires the board of supervisors to require the auditor who performed the audit to present the results and any findings to the board in a regular meeting within 90 days after completing an audit (Sec. 2D).

• Requires the community college district board of directors to require the auditor to present the results and any findings to the board within 90 days after completing the audit (Sec. 3F).

• Prohibits the state, state agency, town, county, or political subdivision from requiring an employee to engage in training, orientation, or therapy that presents any form of blame on the basis of race, ethnicity, or sex (Sec. 4A).

• Prohibits the state, state agency, town, county, or political subdivision from using public monies for training, orientation, or therapy that presents any form of blame on the basis of race, ethnicity, or sex (Sec. 4B).

• Specifies “blame or judgement on the basis of race, ethnicity, or sex” to mean the following (Sec. 4D):

• One race, ethnic group, or sex is inherently morally or intelectually superior to another;

• An individual is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive due to their race, ethnicity, or sex;

• An individual should be discriminated against partly because of their race, ethnicity, or sex; and

• An individual, by virtue of their race, ethnicity, or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed by other members of the same race, ethnic group, or sex.
